There are great trails that start near the Logan Pass visitor center... Definitely bring lots of water and sunscreen, and we've found the hikes are best suited for kids around ten and up. Be prepared to see lots of wildlife! Also, when hiking in the Park, always be prepared for inclement weather (i.e. snowstorms in the summer!) Enjoy this treasure!
If you want to see mountains this is a great place to be. For so many reasons Glacier is an excellent location to experience a bit of the majestic West. Be sure to spend some time out of the vehicle and hiking around. There are many areas to explore and ample opportunity to be amazed!
We visited Glacier National Park this past summer and I was not prepared for just how amazing this park was. Going to the Sun Road is so incredibly dramatic and beautiful, its hard to believe what you are experiencing is real . There are dramatic cliffs with waterfalls plungingover them, massive mountain vistas, gorgeous flower carpeted meadows, and even a glacier or two. Be sure to check out Logan's Pass. Yes, the parking lot can be extremely crowded but once you find a spot and start walking up the boardwalk trail the crowds start to dissipate and snow begins to appear. We saw so much wildlife while in the park from yellow Glacier is definitely a must see.
