Free water play!
Its simply water coming out of the ground and random intervals, but nothing could please my toddler more... especially on a hot summer day! My child could spend hours there. As long as we've got plenty of sunscreen, snacks, and water, we usually can't find a reason not to. (Moms be prepared to jump in too as there is no shade!)
Really, that is all this is...water that shoots out of the ground from a flat fountain. The different spouts erupt at different times and you never know when you are going to get wet. My kids (ages 7-2) love running through it. BUT there is no shade for waiting parents so plan on running through the water with your kiddos or cooking in the Arizona heat. It's also a fun idea to bring plastic cups to put over the fountain spouts and when they erupt the cups shoot in the air. I've seen kids bring buckets to fill with water and dump on each other as well.
This *FREE* park is tucked away in downtown Gilbert, under the water tower behind Liberty Market (where moms and dads can stop in for an amazing iced espresso drink...) and it's just really fun. There is a splash pad to jump on and dodge the water squirting out and a few cascading walls with shallow 'rivers' that my kids like to bring their toy boats to. My kids wear their bathing suits, but I've seen other kids in their clothes. There are benches surrounding- where moms sip their coffee as they watch their 2 year old get splashed in the face... Seriously free entertainment!
