Our 300 foot paddlewheel riverboat is one of the largest showboats in the country. It boasts four massive decks with a beautiful two-story Victorian Theater located in the center of the boat where live music shows are performed. Both midday and evening cruises offer a variety of entertainment options throughout the year. You'll always find something new just around the bend. Holiday cruises begin mid November each year and Special Cruises includes a festive New Years Eve celebration. 2009 will bring exciting new shows so be sure to check back for more details. The General Jackson is an experience you'll only find in Music City!
My family decided to take the lunch cruise on the General Jackson Showboat. We had a great time and enjoyed chatting with the other participants seated at our table. The food was yummy and the experience was fun. The entertainment was fantastic and top notch.
The General Jackson Showboat is a neat addition to your Nashville trip. There is food, music, and a giftshop on board to entertain your entire family. This is a must for country music fans especially. It's a great experience with a fun boat ride as a plus!
We did this for an anniversary and it was beautiful to see downtown Nashville all lit up at night. The food was wonderful and the entertainment, while alittle cheesy, was exciting. I enjoyed my trip on the General Jackson very much! I think I would like to do it agian with my daughter during the day.
This is a definite SKIP for anyone visiting Nashville. The tickets are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced - for example, their current holiday dinner show is $88 for adults, plus tax, and the "discount" price for kids is $58. There are better ways to see Nashville (for example, by walking across the pedestrian bridge downtown), there is WAY better food to be had, AND there are many more genuine and enjoyable shows to be seen. Seriously, do not waste your time and money on this!
