Ample free parking
Gatorland is considered by many to be the best Half Day theme park in the Central Florida area. You can feel free to let your inner child wonder about these large reptiles, some of which are 16 feet long.
Or if you're more of an adventurer, check out their five brand new zip lines. The fifth is 1,200 feet in the air and suspended over the gator breeding pit. Exciting and terrifying are the two words I would use.
Eyes squeezed shut zip lining, anyone?!
A theme park with thousands of gators swimming below your feet under the wooden walkways? Awesome for a 6 year old, not so awesome for a toddler....There is a great kids area to run and play (and get wet) in. So this makes for a better summer destination. The food is decent, the reptile area is so-so, the train around the swamp is a blast. For a price you can get your picture with a baby (3 foot?) gator or a giant boa constrictor wrapped around your neck. Once again- awesome for an older kid, scream fest for a toddler. There is a petting zoo and some "cute" things too (not with scales and claws and teeth....) like bears and other warm blooded things! So wait until Jr. is in school and get off the beaten Disney path to this one of a kind theme park just a few minutes from the Disney scene.
I love Gatorland, I used to go all of the time when I was younger. I like to learn about the different types of alligators there are and the differences between an alligator and a crocadile. I went in the summer and there was a water play area for the children to play in and they all had a blast! I was even tempted to go play so I acted like my nephew needed me so I could get wet too! The shows that are put on are great; very interesting for children too!
Gatorland has lots of really cool and neat exhibits. The size of the gators are amazing! There are also gigantic tortoises too!
The weirdest part was it seemed two guys ran the whole place, they were the stars of all the shows and we even had one driving the train one of the times we rode it. I am guessing they would like a little more help.
I really liked that you could ride the train unlimited. That was an added plus with small kids.
The price of food and drinks was reasonable.
We had a great time!
We loved Gatorland, after many years of saying we wanted to go to Gatorland, we finally made it there and we were glad we did, this little park is awesome. I have never been so close to so many gators in my life and I loved it. The show near the entrance was great and the staff stays in character for the whole show. We loved the nature trail and spent a good hour just walking and looking at the natural florida wildlife. I do not recommend going to Gatorland in the middle of the Summer or in temps above 90 as there is little shade in the park, though there is a cute little splash area for kids, for the most part you are in the sun. There is also a cute restaurant which serves gatortail and it was amazingly good. We will be going back to Gatorland on our next trip to Orlando.
This place was one of the coolest places I have ever been. Just to see all the gators and know my family and myself were safe. We all had a great time. The guy got the gator to jump up for food wow that gator was huge. It was an amazing site. The price to go there was not to bad and well worth it. I would go back for sure. I hope to take my kids and my mom back this summer. I think she will love as much as we all did
Our 3 kids (6,6,and 3) loved this side like show. A year later and they are still talking about sitting on top of an alligator and the alligators eating the chickens. It was a good diversion from the disneyfied Orlando. We spent the day looking at the alligators and other lizards and went on a little nature walk. It seems a little overpriced and the food selections were poor, but the kids continue to talk about it. A Tip: It gets mighty hot walking around the exhibits.
Great gator shows, beautiful bird shows, and other reptiles. The gator wrestling is not to be missed. Typical food, definitely a change from the typical Disney fare as far as being more quiet. You will see every size alligator you can imagine, along with reptiles and some non-native to Florida reptiles.
Great place to take the kids for dinner...live gators, souveniers, food is the usual fare (nuggets, chicken, pasta, etc.) It gets really crowded so I'd make reservations ahead of time if possible. It's a nice change from all the chain restaurants and a change of scenery for the outdoor mall areas
.
Not far from the hubbub, yet a world away, Gatorland holds on to Orlando’s Cracker roots with gator-wrestling shows and native snake demonstrations. You’ll see alligators from a foot long to 3 feet wide. There are also a wet and dry playground, afterdark events, and a crocodile land. If you dare, snack on some gator ribs or gator nuggets at Pearl’s Smokehouse. It serves more normal fare as well and provides a smokehouse jungle gym for the kids.
