Check website for fun children's workshops that teach them about geology, nature, and Native American history. The workshops are all interactive and require pre-payment and registration.
Five miles of nature trails meander through this sixty-two-acre preserve, once thecampsite of Matinecock Indians. Exhibits at the museum include animatronic figures demonstrating various aspects of Native American culture, and archaeological and geological displays. Outside there’s a tulip tree dugout canoe and a wigwam to explore, as well as the first and only dinosaur footprints found on Long Island.
