Named one of the country's top 5 gardens by Bottomline Publications, June 2012. 210 acres of floral landscapes, waterfalls, streams, and architectural structures all in a natural woodland setting
The Garvan Woodland Gardens is a fabulous botanical garden adventure. We spent a full afternoon at Garvan Woodland Gardens exploring the trails and various areas of the gardens. From the Bonsai Gardens to the woodland shady trails, to the many bridges and floral areas, there is something that will catch every visitors’ attention. Our favorite spot was the children’s area where kids and kids at heart were able to walk along rock trails, explore rock caves, and jump over streams from one side to the other. Another favorite trail was the circular trail on the peninsula where the birds and peacocks live.
We ate lunch at the Chipmunk Café, a small café, where food is cooked/made to order. Burgers, sandwiches, salads were on the menu. Not fancy, but it was tasty and the model train garden exhibit right near the café, kept my son entertained while we were waiting for our food to be made.
We had a true blast at the Garvan Woodland Gardens. My husband was skeptical, but we all left wishing we lived closer, so that we could visit more often. If we make it back to the Hot Spring, Arkansas area, Garvan Woodland Gardens will be on our must do list.
