"Not for the kids"

This place is next to a playground which usually has some soccer game going on. However it is also accross the street from a subsidized housing project that I would not feel comfortable bringing a small child near.  Might be ok, if the kids are old enough to drop if they hear gunfire.  I recommend picking another pool the city has many to offer.
