Explore the shops of Gardner Village for unique wares and food as well as seasonal events.
Okay, this is such a fun, outdoor shopping attraction in West Jordan, Utah. There are about a dozen old houses converted to little boutiques. They have a bakery which has delicious sandwiches, a children's boutique which is a little pricey, but adorable, a great knitting store, a spa, etc. They have wonderful holiday-themed events almost every month so check their website or find them on facebook for updates.
GV has adorable shops and yummy treats ! We love doing a quick shopping trip with my little girls and then grabbing some lunch. They have great GNO activities about every other month and I am totally addicted to a lot of their stores! I recommend checking them out if you have a few hours to kill :D
We live pretty close to Gardner Village, and it's a great place to take the kids on a warm day. You don't have to spend any money! You can walk around outside, visit the shops, and get a free fudge sample at Sweet Afton's. The BEST time to visit the village is at Halloween and Christmas time, when they have witches and elves displayed all over the village for kids to find in a scavenger hunt. So fun!
Gardner Village is so fun to go to in the fall when they have all their witches on display. My kids do not enjoy going into all the little shops, and the strollers do not fit well in there. But it is a fun place to get out of the house and walk around with the kids. Go to Gardner Village's website to print out a witch hunt form, it will keep you busy for an hour or so. They have a bakery and a candy shop that is fun to stop at and get a little treat for everyone. If you are hungry their restaurant is pretty good.
Every October I take my children to see the witches and to complete the scavenger hunt. I try to pick a time that I think won't be too busy, because when it's busy it's not nearly as fun. We print off the scavenger hunt and walk around to find all the witches and afterwards we take it to the bakery and get a 25 cent cookie (and maybe a delicious cinnamon roll too!). I also like to go without my kids and visit all the cute shops!
Gardner Village is a fun place for adults as well as children. During Halloween, there are decorated life-sized witches as you stroll around the pathway. During Christmas, there are elves. Even during off-season times it is fun to visit. Bring along some bread to feed the ducks and koi fish that live in the pond. Stop by the candy store for a fun treat as you stroll the pathway. There are a lot of fun stores around, but if your kids are like mine, it is easier to stay outside. I love shopping there without children though, because there are some fun, unique store that you won't find other places.
I went here for the first time in October. 2 words...Oh My! Such a fun place to stroll around with great little boutiques to linger in, yummy food (I highly recommend the apple pie cake in the big restaurant)
Year round it is great, there are fun activities for all. However, Halloween time they decorate to a hilt. Shop workers all dress up like witches and do fun festivities. Witches night out is a MUST! (Although, very packed) everybody goes and dresses up like a witch. Great thing for a girls night out if you ask me!
This is really a must-see, especially at Halloween! They have life-size (or larger) witches all over the place. They are cute and not scary. There is usually a scavenger hunt sponsored by the bakery in the village that you can do to find all the witches and you get a cookie when you're done. Even if it's not at Halloween (or Christmas when there are Elves and a similar hunt) this is a great place. Cute shops, our favorites are the kids' book store and the doll shop. The candy shop is a fun place for a treat. I would catch a meal somewhere else but for snacking there are fun options. Also we have always seen ducks to feed when we have visited.
I love Gardner Village for several reasons. #1: Shopping. This is something I rather do by myself as a get-away or with a friend. The unique shops are a lot of fun to explore, but not with little ones. The shops are often short on space and little hands have way too much to grab at. I have also gone there and just taken pictures. It is a great place for some “me” time. #2 Holidays. They always have fun decorations for the holidays such as the witches for Halloween and the Elves for Christmas. They often have special events that go with the holidays. These events I do like to take my young children to and they love them. #3 Archibald’s Restaurant. It is so yummy. #4 Sweet Afton’s. Candy shop for all. Must try their fudge. Couple other things to note: Parking is usually free, except for some special events. Check the website to avoid events that you may not be interested in that will bring large crowds, such as 5K races, etc. Gardner Village is a great way to spend the afternoon.
I hate to shop so I purposely avoid boutique stores with 3 kiddos in tow. Gardner Village has found the answer to attracting those of us “non-shoppers with families” by offering whimsical holiday displays; Halloween brings precarious witches and Christmas brings charming elves. We make it an annual family tradition to visit each of these holiday displays. We also like to take the time and visit some of the boutique stores; purchasing a new Christmas tree ornament or holiday decoration.
Gardner Village is a wonderful place to find a perfect picture backdrop. If your only purpose in visiting is a cute family photo against these backdrops, then visit on Sunday when all of the shops are closed. However, visit during one of Gardner Village’s special events for fun family entertainment. Events include, Witchfest (i.e. pony rides, hay-rides, pick your own pumpkin, and entertainment) during Halloween season and Christmas events (Breakfast with Santa, Christmas lights, scavenger hunts, and entertainment). The boutique shops in the village are nice; a place to find a unique gift. However, prices are a bit more expensive due to their “one-of-a-kind” offerings.
In summary, bring your family and a camera for some great pictures against the holiday displays. Let the kiddos run along the paths, over the bridges and explore some cute shops. In my opinion, this isn’t shopping; it’s actually fun with 3 kiddos in tow.
This place is fun. They have all these little shops you can visit. They are very quaint, but fun. My kids love going at Halloween and Christmas because they decorate so fun. At Halloween time they have tons of witches around all doing different funny things. The shops are great. They have a candy shop, quilt shop, furniture store. A store for kids books and games, they even have a store dedicated to Christmas. You could spend an evening here, but bring your money, because the stuff is too cute to pass up.
We took our baby during Halloween and it was a lot of fun. Everyone is dressed up like witches and they have a lot of crafts and activities set up around the area. There was also a place for pony rides. The stores are cute but are a little pricey.
The little boutique shops are full of overpriced stuff if you ask me but the area is fun to go visit. There is a restaurant and a cafe. In the summer there is a pony ride thing. For Halloween they do a whole big witches theme and have big parties and dinner shows. You can do weddings or receptions (and I assume company parties if you want) here. They have it all set up as Santa’s village for Christmas. It’s really cute and fun for the kids I just wouldn’t come here to buy my furniture or other things that they sell here that I think are overpriced like I said earlier! Overall it’s worth the trip out for the experience though
Adults will love browsing the different artisan shops on the grounds of Garden Village and kids will love the seasonal activities. Petting Zoos and Pony Rides prevail in teh Summer and we have visited during the Fall when they had decorated the entire landscape with fun Halloween decor. The restaurant has really excellent food (try the deep fried Avacado Appetizer) for a reasonable price. Our entire family really enjoys visiting here.
This place is great to visit during Halloween. It is greatly decorated and you can find actors dressed up that haunt the village and interact with their patrons.
We love to visit the old fashion candy shop and check out their Halloween displays.
Besides that is just a commercial lot with lots of small retailers and boutiques.
A bit pricey but if you are looking for something unique, perhaps handmade, this is the place to find it.
Gardner village is one of the most charming places in Utah. There are all kinds of shops and fun little places to eat and explore. During the fall they have "witchapalooza" where the whole place is decorated for Halloween and there are lots of shows and activities. Pretty kid friendly (especially the specialty candy shop) and a great place for receptions and parties.
This is a fun place to go shopping with your friends or daughters. they have some fun activities for children throughout the year. They often have scavenger hunts children can complete for free or cheap candy or cookies. They also have a fun petting zoo.
Gardner village is so cute. Gardner village is a historic village with cute little shops and great restaurants. they have animals for the kids, events during the holidays such as Whitchapalooza and witches night out for everyone to dress up as witches. It does get crowded sometimes but totally worth it.
Good place to visit for an afternoon with the kids. My 2 year old son loved the pony ride and the petting zoo. There is a restaurant there also. The majority of the Village is full of boutique shops. One of my favorite places to stop is the candy shop, but beware there's usually a line.
Although Gardner Village is basically just a gathering of shops, it is still a great place to take the family. The old fashioned looking village has an ice cream parlor and old fashioned candy shop among the buildings and during Halloween, Gardner village goes all out with its decorations. It is a fun place to visit but I wouldn't plan a whole day centered around Gardner Village, a couple of hours would suffice.
