Galveston Island State Park is a 2,000-acre park of sandy beaches and gulf breezesthat spans the width of Galveston Island. Activities include swimming, fishing, pinicking, camping, beachcombing, bird-watching, and nature study along 4 miles of walking trails. Facilities include campsites, screened shelters, sixty sheltered picnic tables, a paved boat ramp, and an amphitheater where outdoor musicals are presented.
