G & M Farms-- Cornfield Maze and Pumpkin Patch

"Autumn Fun for the Family"

Open only in the month of October, G & M farms is a seasonal attraction, but one that we look forward to yearly.  It is one of the area's largest pumpkin patches, with plenty of pumpkins to load onto the traditional Radio Flyer wagons and pull around.  But my kids always enjoy the 'side' attractions as much as the pumpkin selection process.  

For the past two years, G & M has had a 'corn sandbox', with a climbing structure, and construction-style excavator scoops with which to scoop and move the dried corn.  The corn feels strangely therapeutic on tired feet, so take off your shoes and take a dip in yourself!  My kids played here more or less independently for more than an hour-- well worth the price of two (overpriced) pumpkins.  

There is also a hay maze, just right in scale for the younger children who wouldn't enjoy (or be worth the price of admission to) the larger cornfield maze also on the premises.  There are also some small animals to observe, and a few farm-inspired 'exhibits'.  

All in all, a great place to celebrate the arrival of Fall, although you may want to sneak out and buy your pumpkins later that night on sale at Safeway!
