This is a really cool zoo! There are different sections to explore with really neat animals! There is an African Journey, a Australian Adventure, a Central Zoo and an Indonesian Rainforest! The otters are adorable and so are the penguins! In the African Adventrue there is a ski-lift type ride that you can go one and see the zoo. Also it is very educational! You can learn a lot about where the animals came from in different sections! A must see!
This is an awesome zoo for the size of the city that it resides. There are a lot of different activities to do and can keep your kiddos entertained all day long! Keep in mind that many of the activities, however, are not stroller friendly. This is why I only rated it 4 stars. There was no where good to park your stroller so you could go on rides and such as a family.
The Fort wayne childrens zoo is a great place to take the kids and learn and enjoy all of the great animals! with tons of fun rides and great learning experiences there is sure to be fun had by all! it can be really pricey though. so try to find some coupons before you go! also keep your kids away from the gift shop! it is waaay over-priced, you dont wanna get stuck in theree!!!!
We go to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo at least once per summer with our daughter. The water animal displays are especially good, as the children can easily see them through the glass. There are several "zones" for different continent features. The African veldt is our favorite.
They don't call this place the Ft. Wayne Children's Zoo for nothing. It is the perfect zoo for kids (of all ages)! Even their mission statement is geared towards kids and families: connecting kids and animals, strengthening families, and inspiring people to care. They offer free parking but be sure to note that they are open only during fair weather months (April - October).
