I love taking my son to this park. Even though it's next to a busy street and a dog park, their far enough away from each other that you don't even notice. I love the climbing structure and my sons favorite spot is the sand pit with the giant turtle in it. he also like the "train". He loves hiding from me in all the little spots in the play structure. Its a great park for picnics as well! On sundays you can walk the path to a little farmers market :)
We've done some picnics at this park and love the play area especially for little ones! In fact, our little one's first experience on the swing was here! It has an enclosed toddler play area with sand and a play structure. When we've been here, it hasn't been too crowded.
A nice place to go with your little ones!
this park is very cute. it has a smaller child section as well as an older child section. They have a nice set of swings. Sand. The park is right by a busy busy street which isn't my favorite for kids....but its a very nice park. There are coffee shops around it to grab a nice hot cup of coffee before heading over to the park. the parking is a bit of a nightmare and its usually pay the meters which i personally hate!
I am jealous of the folks who live close to this long strip of a park. At the north end is Hardy Playground for ages 5-12 but we only have a toddler so we aimed for the Redondo Playground at Redondo St and Clarke St, designed for ages 2-5. It took us multiple attempts to even find the place so check the website.
Once found, I was amazed at the work the community put into this place. There are lots of well made structures that kept my son going for quite a while without me worrying about him falling through slats or getting stuck underneath the slide. The random plastic push toy seemed out of place with so many other ways to move. Outside of the main fenced area was one picnic table and a bench, and a creek. Yes, you heard me right -- a creek. It was right off the sidewalk and seemed clean but cold as one little guy was finding out by dipping his toes in while we were there (in June). One warning: I'd imagine the crowd here is a lot different on weekends, especially during the Temescal Farmer's Market on sundays, which is just around the corner. During the week, pick up some treats at Bakesale Betty's and walk around the corner to enjoy a great spot.
