My 4 year is naturally curious. This was a great place for him to see things he'd never seen, and ask a million questions.
It's very large, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
Parking is a bit of a hassle, so be sure to arrive early.
There is plenty of dining around in case you get hungry.
The flea market is a fun place to waste an hour or two. A lot of the vendors have the same merchandise. It's quite different from the old French Market that used to sell homemade items and local specialties. If you want cheap New Orleans shirts and fake handbags, this is definitely the place to go.
The New Orleans French Market Community Market is a great place to get all of your souvenir shopping done. There are many items that vary from time to time, so what you'll see depends on when you visit. They've got everything from food to toys to clothing to jewelry. The kids love looking around at all of the items on display - just watch them close; some items can be expensive.
The French Market Flea Market is great. It can get very hot in the summertime because most of it is under a structure and there is not much breeze. The deals are worth the walk through and the kids will be amused by the loud noises and bright colors. You can find traditional Louisiana food at different booths and souvenirs are cheap. The further into the market you go, the cheaper the stuff. You will want to leave the strollers at home. If that isn’t an option, you can stroll on the side of the market and still check out some tables.
