Daily, Noon & 2pm guided tours
This beach is quite lovely. There is an admission fee as it is a state park. Chairs and beach umbrellas are available to rent for a fee. There is also a concessions stand and decent bathrooms and showers. Overall, it is nice because it isn't terribly crowded. For our toddler however the sand was slightly rock and we preferred Smather's beach nearby. This is a great spot to snap some family pictures though! Very photogenic.
Beaches are not Key West’s strong suit. This one is man-made and fringed with shade trees. When it’s time to get out of the sun, a history refreshment awaits in the form of a fort that was built before the Civil War. Living-history tours are conducted the last weekend of the month during winter season. Join a ranger-guided tour of the fort atnoon or 2:00 p.m. daily year-round.
