We visited the zoo during Spring Break. I had been here as a child and had fond memories of the vastness of the zoo. I was actually disappointed upon my return. The exhibits weren't all that special for what you would expect. The orangatan area was pretty cool with the large rock structure. However, we felt that the walkways weren't wide enough for the immense crowds and some of the viewing areas were too confined. The train was kind of ridiculous. It was a short ride that went behind buildings. The only animals you could really see were a longhorn, and some flamingos. Other than that you were looking at the event facility and back doors.
We like this zoo a lot more than Dallas. We always find something new and exciting here and the Dallas Zoo seems to always be under construction where you can't see over half the exhibits. Last time we went to the Ft Worth Zoo there were lion and tiger cubs. It was a lot of fun to watch how playful there were. It just seems to me that the animals are always happier at this zoo and they are always playful.
The Fort Worth Zoo is a fantastic zoo to take the kids to! They have lots of different animals including elephants, lions, monkeys, zebra, reptiles, and many many more. There is also a little train that goes around the outside of the zoo- great for kids!
The Fort Worth Zoo is right in our backyard and is a great place to take kiddos to see God's creatures in a more natural habitat. If you can make it in the middle of the week, Wednesdays are half price admission! There is a Texas Wild section of the zoo that focuses on Texas-specific wildlife and what you can find in the different areas of the state. Very educational but a lot of fun, too!
The fort worth zoo is an awesome zoo. I love going there. I like feeding the birds. The monkeys are funny to watch they act so crazy. The zoo is nice and so are the staff they are friendly. I love going to the zoo its fun looking at the different animals.
The Fort Worth Zoo is a first-class attraction. Your family will go wild over this place, where you can get face-to-face with gorillas, orangutans, and chimpanzees at the World of Primates or watch eagles flying above and around you in Raptor Canyon. Step back into old-time Texas at a one-room schoolhouse, ranch house, and other buildings around which the deer and the antelope do play and the buffalo do roam. Stroll tree-shaded paths that wind around the grounds so you can see more than 5,000 exotic and native animals in natural-habitat exhibits. The kids will enjoy the Forest Park Train Ride (817–336–3328) at the zoo. Two ornate miniature trains carry passengers for 5 miles around Trinity and Forest Parks.
