See Over 500 exhibits relating to historical transportation.
The Forney Museum of Transportation has hundreds of items on display: huge locomotives, antique cars, buggies, bicycles, motorbikes, tricycles and more. The race cars and old service vehicles were my youngest child's (5 years old) favorite, while the retro station wagons and old funeral coaches were my eldest child's (11 years old) favorite.
I had expected that the dining and club cars of the trains were going to be open for walking through, but they were not, and the kids had a hard time viewing the interior of these cars through the high — and quite dusty — windows.
I would not bring a child under the age of 8 to the museum again; my 7 year old was uninterested in almost everything, and the 5 year old was visibly tired of hearing, "Please don't touch, only look!" The adults in the group, however, (all above the age of 30) did enjoy seeing the evolution of the many types of transportation that the museum has collected.
