"Fun with the Family"
Another highlight of the Allegheny National Forest is the Flying W Ranch, on Route666, 12 miles west of Tionesta. This 500-acre working ranch sits within the bounaries of the national forest and offers countless opportunities for adventure. Spend an hour or a week here taking western riding lessons, canoeing on the Allegheny River, hiking, fishing, and more. In July come for the professional Allegheny Mountain Championship Rodeo. For a real adventure, go on one of the overnight horseback trips into the national forest.
Accommodations range from bunkhouses to cabins, or you can bring your RVand hook up at the campground. In summer the ranch offers a western riding camp for children ages six to fourteen.
