Dates for 2012: July 26-29
The community of Floyd hosts FloydFest, a 4-day celebration of music and art from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m. each day. Attendees have the opportunity to camp-out along the Blue Ridge Parkways, while enjoying live music, workshops and demonstration in the 'Global Village', and browse the offerings of over 100 artisans and crafters. For the kids, the 'Children's Universe' offers children-oriented performances, puppetry, workshops, playgrounds and babysitting.
The festival offers something for everyone with 8 stages of over 50 live acts performing a variety of music genres ranging from rock, reggae, folk, bluegrass, jazz, and hip-hop. Camping accommodations consist of designated areas that include a wooded area and large camping field, with portable toilets, hand-washing stations and 8 warm-water stalls located nearby.
A "Quiet Camping" area is available for families with children who wish to get away from the music scene at night.
