"Fun with the Family"

Three times yearly the nationally televised Swamp Buggy Races take place here. Swamp buggies are vehicles adapted to the Everglades’ marshy terrain; these are speedy, souped-up versions. The races in October feature a downtown parade. The year’s Swamp Buggy Queen makes her first appearance at the March race and gets dunked in the mud at every race. (The third race is in May.)
