"Great Family Time! Money Saver!"

This is a great inside getaway! Its nice for the whole family and is rewarding to see the kids so interested in all the little fishes! The mini shows are good and educational, especially the one with the scuba diver going in the tank and talking to the audience. I know if you get the membership, you can save on other parks throughout the year on some months where you can even get in for free or low discounts for the family, so look into it and see. God Bless You!

"A tad expensive but worth it"

The Florida Aquarium in Tampa is a FUN day for kids of any age.  The tanks with all the different species of fish, especially manatees are worth a look.  A fun learning experience on sea life in general.  The outdoor water park is a nice bonus in the hot Florida heat.  Bathing suits and sunscreen are a MUST!

"The Penguins are sweet!"

I don't know why it is that aquariums are typically so much more expensive than zoos, but we were on vacation so we splurged and I'm glad we did.  Be sure you're there for the penguin part, as they let the penguins out to waddle around and they walk right up to the kids!  Our son was so little when we went, we hope to go back again some day.  They were walking right up to kids and trying to eat their shoelaces.  It was quite an experience!  The rest of the aquarium was just so-so...but man those penguins were cute!

"Aquarium"

This place is awesome!  The kids love it and so do the parents.  Lots of animals to look at and plenty to read and learn at the same time.  They even have an outside water play area to top off a hot day in the summer.  Plan to stay the whole day and either pack a lunch or buy something from their cafe.

"Pretty Good Place"

I havent been to any other aquariums, so I don't have anything to compare too,  but I thought it was pretty nice. For some reason, I did expect it to be bigger though. The tanks were great, my kids loved seeing the animals. There was an observation deck at the top, where you could look out over Davis Islands & the Port of Tampa. They thought the big boats were pretty cool. But probably their favorite area was the outdoor play area. Who doesnt love getting wet? Definitely bring the kids swimsuits, they will want to play!

"Not as great as Atlanta, but fun!"

We went to this aquarium before we had children!  It is a very large aquarium and does have some beautiful tanks.  The fish are very accessible and there is plenty of room to stroll around with your stroller, if you were to bring little ones.  It was not nearly as crowded as the Atlanta aqaurium or nearly as expensive either.  But, you get what you pay for!  It's great, if you are in Tampa, but if you are in Atlanta, be sure not to miss the aquarium there!  Kids won't know the difference though and will love the colorful fish!

"Geared Up for Kids"

This is such an awesome place to take the little ones!  There are touch tanks with slippery fish and slimy sea stars.  There are fun things to climb on and a wet playground, perfect for those hot Florida days.  Make sure to bring either a swimsuit or a change of clothes so everyone can get wet.  Sunscreen is ALWAYS a must in the Florida sun.

My two-year-old son and my ten-year-old niece both had an awesome time.  Its not often that outside of Disney you can find a place that satisfies that range of ages.  The aquarium has the added bonus of sneaking in a little education too!

"A little small, but fun"

When you live in Tampa, you expect a lot from aquariums. Every time you turn around, you see a tropical fish store! So, when we visited the Florida Aquarium, we were a little surprised at the size. We were expecting a much larger place with a lot more to do. But our little one still had a good time - carrying baby in the Baby Bjorn helped us walk hands free and gave him a leg up to see all the tanks. The wall tank was cool (large fish, sharks, etc.) and the penguin show. But...that was all there was. We finished the whole place in about 2 hours. SO, if you have a couple hours to kill, go to the Aquarium but do not plan a day event around it.

"Cute Aquarium"

I really enjoy taking my little girl to the Tampa Aquarium. It has really good exhibits, but the main part that I love is the waterpark it has attached to it. It's perfect to go to on a hot summer day, because you can get the nice cool air and walk around the aquarium, and then go outside and have a play on the playground with the water. It's really great!

"Florida Bums"

My family is in love with Florida. This aquarium is fun and even got my kids more interested in the ocean. When they learned- and got to see- more animals than they do in everyday life- they couldn't be more excited. They soaked up the information so well and had a blast!

"Fish Tales"

Like another reviewer said, it is VERY pricey to walk in the door...and the aquarium is not the big.  (It is big, but not big enough for the 1 day entrance charges)  The annual family passes are a good alternative for locals.  (Those passes also allow you to check out a LOT of other zoo, and family friendly places through out the year)  Explorashore is a great way to run off some energy while not getting completely over heated as well...

"Fishy Fishy"

This Aquarium is absolutely gorgeous! It has some rare underwater creatures that you would never in a million years be fortunate to see. The place is amazingly clean. Its such a laid back atmosphere with millions apon million of fish and other sea life to view. Small children love to see the HUGE tanks and the rare fish but they also love the little water area for them to play and pretend to be little fishes of their own. They offer an area to pet stingrays which is a favorite of everyone who comes to visit. This is such an extraordinary place, so go visit!

"Bring bathing suits!"

The aquarium is wonderful.  After spending the morning walking through the exhibits, the kids can put on bathing suits and run through the water playground.  There are restrooms and changing rooms outside.

They enjoyed the penguin meeting the most, the penguin would walk right up to the kids and they were so excited to be that close.  They also liked the place where you could touch starfish.

"So much to see"

Outdoor explore a shore area offers plenty of splashing and sand pit fun for little ones.  It does tend to be crowded which makes it a challenge to get up close to the tanks to see the animals on display.  The touch tanks have friendly volunteers able to answer questions about the creatures you can touch.  The shark tank is a favorite with many visitors.

"Not worth the money"

I thought it was a nice facility overall, but it is very expensive for the time you spend there. My family of four and it was close to $80 for admission, then we spent an additional $40 on lunch and $40 on gifts. It was too expensive in my opinion. The water quality was not very nice. It just seemes dirty to me.

"Fun with the Family"

Under its shell-shaped glass dome, exhibit areas showcase the state’s different aquarian environments. You can look below the surface of a mangrove estuary to see mullet and snook; above the water line, native owls and vegetation create the effect of the damp environment. Another display demonstrates beach life—waves and all. An interactive addition allows children to dig for beach treasures and build a reef. Awes & Jaws features more than twenty additional species of sharks and rays and hands-on ways to learn about the animals’ power and anatomy. Frights of the Forest contains leeches, scorpions, vampire bats, and other under-loved critters. The complex’s most colorful section gives you a magnificent window into reef life. Many of the exhibits are conveniently at kid’s-eye level.
