2.5 miles round trip
We hiked the Fay Canyon Trail in late March about 36 hours after a freak snowstorm hit Sedona. It was about 70 degrees outside but there were still patches of snow on the ground, making for a fun and unique hiking experience. My kids loved the novelty of throwing snowballs at each other while wearing shorts. The hike itself is stunning as it follows a creek deep into a forested red rock canyon. Much of the trail is shady and the elevation gains are slight. The trail ends at massive rockslide area but I recommend parents and older kids climb up the rocks a bit to capture truly impressive views. The entire hike is only 2.5 miles, making for an excellent little hike for kids of all ages.
