Camping here is a dream! The sites are spread far enough apart that you never have to worry about getting the kids to sleep because of the noise next door or being awakened too early in the morning. At 9,000 ft, the weather does change quickly so be sure to bring adequate changes of clothing to accommodate those changes. With 3 stocked ponds, fishing is never crowded and even the smallest anglers are sure to make a catch. Smack in the middle of the area is a playground for kids who need to burn a little more energy. We enjoyed hiking around the over 600 miles of hiking trails with tons of photo opportunities everywhere you turn here. The view of Pikes Peak is just amazing and worth a day trip if not camping. They also offer rental cabins and lodge accommodations if you are not the camping type.
