There is a lot to see and buy here, but it can get really crowded! You can use a stroller, but it can be tricky to move around sometimes. There is very little shade outside at the festival during a hot summer day and be prepared to wait in long lines for drinks or icecream. There are a lot of wonderful and unique vendors and you can take a shuttle to the festival so you don't need to worry about finding a place to park. There is lots of entertainment to watch and a BBQ usually kicks off the festival.
The first weekend in June marks the Fairport Canal Days Festival centered in downtown Fairport around the Erie Canal. There are tons of vendors, all local, and tons of food...all of it amazing! Bounce houses for the kids, and usually kids events set up. It's very worth the trip to go and since it's only one weekend per year, it's usually pretty busy. Parking is available all over the place, usually for a fee. We normally park at a church to make the parking fee a donation. Bring your walking shoes, bottle of water, and an empty belly! There's live bands as well.
