"Great day trip for the family!"

Our family had a nice visit at this national park. There's plenty of nature to see including toads, alligators, all kinds of birds, snakes and more! Be sure to pack a lunch, snacks and water though. You'll be walking throughout the park for quite some time. Also keep in mind, it's sweltering in the summer so dress accordingly! Overall, fantastic time.

"Lions, and Tigers, and Crocodiles OH my!!"

Well this is a great place to visit and see lots of exotic animals. i don't enjoy taking the kids there very much because of the danger of the animals. we saw lots of crocodiles which thrilled the kids but scared me! hope this is helpful and you'll visit soon.

"Fun with the Family"

The Everglades’ main visitor center lies outside the park’s entrance gate and providesa thorough and state-of-the-art examination of ’Glades critters and the factors that influence them. One exhibit that kids like identifies the calls of cricket frogs, limpkins, and other noisy park residents. A map directs visitors to trails and other facilities along the 40-mile road on the park’s east access (for western access, see Southwest Florida chapter).
Two short interpretative trails depart from the Royal Palm Visitors Center, 4 miles inside the park. Anhinga Trail is best in the park for wildlife—lots of gators and birds. Others penetrate slash pine, hammock mahogany, saw grass prairie, and cypress environment.
At Pa-hay-okee Overlook, 13 miles inside the park, a boardwalk leads to an observation tower. Eco Pond on Flamingo Road is another good place to spy wildlife—alligators, otters, roseate spoonbills, egrets, and other wading birds.
The Flamingo Visitors Center and Marina features natural history exhibits and information on camping, sightseeing cruises, charter fishing, canoeing, and boat, houseboat, and bicycle rentals. (Some services are limited after the high season ends.) The park hosts interpretive programs, including a weekend family session, in season.
