This is a local institution. Home since 1907 of the original “sheepherder bread,” a hearty country loaf, Schat’s also has delicious sweet rolls and scrumptious sandwiches. You’ll leave well fortified and ready to tackle another stretch of scenic California.

"Jalapeno Cheese Bread is to die for"

Oh my goodness, there is just so much yumminess in this bakery!! In the morning before heading off to ski, grab a huge cinnamon roll and a steaming cup of coffee and head up to the mountain. The pull-apart bread is so wonderful, and the smells are a feast for the senses. Yum.  Not to be missed when you are in the area, either in Bishop or in Mammoth!
