You know, I used to detest this park. I was in and out in half a day. This year, I found that they have added a lot of attractions and if you have kids that are 6 and under, there really is a lot to do. The Nemo attraction is lame, but the aquarium at the end is awesome, so do the ride, even though it's kind of boring. You will love the aquarium at the end. Do test track first or get a fast pass. Such a thrilling ride. Make sure to get a list of character greetings and if you are a Disney Visa holder, go to the Innovations West between 1 and 4 and you will receive a special meet and greet and a free 5x7 photo. We didn't do the countries this time because my daughter wasn't interested, but I have done them and there are characters at each country. Do Mexico it has a great boat ride and an interesting indoor ambiance. We ate there too. We had the Chorizo Quesadilla and it was to die for. We ate at the Garden Grill, not really thrilled - too expensive, but the characters do come to the table if you do the character dinner. Tinkerbell is only at this park for signatures, so make sure you go to Pixie Hollow and check the times when she will be there.
If traveling around the world is not withing your budget and you still want the feel of it,than this is your place.Every country exhibit has people, food ad activities related to that country in one park. I love it and so will your kids. When you finish strolling around the countries and various activities, make sure you go to soarin' it is well worth the ride.
When we go to Disney, we stay for about a week. As there are only four parks to visit, we generally visit each one more than once. We hit the Magic Kingdom seven or eight times in that period, but Epcot only gets one, two (maybe three) visits--depending on how bored we are with the other options. It is not our least favorite (the Animal Kingdom only has three things to do there) but it is second to last. We like the educational aspect, Nemo, the dinosaurs and the Test Track. There is also a fabulous fireworks show...Get there early to get a spot up close to the fence.
The epcot is the most exciting breathtaking site there is to offer mainly for its great 3d effects. It brings the favorite disney pixar characters to life including nemo and more. I recommend this place to outgoing parents as well as overjoyed kids. Also remember to always have fun. epcot also includes 3d movies and games for more 3d fun it will blow you away thanks and god bless.
Epcot is great, especially for children a little older. Besides the educational aspect of the features, there's also the international area where you can sample cuisine from different cultures which appeals to all. However, for my two-year old, the only thing that really held her interest was the Nemo and Figment ride, and a large (and delicious!) soft pretzel from "Germany".
We always visit Epcot while at Disney World, but it is my daughter's least favorite park. On our last visit, we participated in the passport program and she was able to have an art project or activity to complete in each nation around the world showcase. That certainly helped hold her attention. The night show is always fascinating, as well.
Great park! We went right before Christmas 2010, and while it was very crowded, it was a lot of fun. My kids (9,6 &1) had a lot of fun! Unfortunatly it was too busy to ride the main attractions like Mission Space or the Test Track, but they had fun anyway. The Nemo ride & Turtle Talk with Crush was really cute! They LOVED seeing the dolphins swimming in the tank. The ride inside Mexico was really cute, my 1 year old loved it. THey also had really neat play areas inside Innoventions, very fun. A definite must see!
My family and I loved Epcot. I love how you can visit all the different places, China, France, Germany, etc. I love how everything is set up and easy to find. Obviously it is expensive to visit but its worth the money. They also have some fun rides for the little kids which is great!
This park has always been my favorite because it's very interesting and educational. Also, it's like sampling the worlds flavors in one place. There isn't a ton of things to do for little people. In fact, the activity they had was to decorate a mask but it was the same in all countries. Save this park for adult time or older kids.
If your little girl(s) adore the Disney princesses, then this is the place for you. As you walk around to the different pavillions (countries) you will find a Disney princess or two waiting for you. You might even be lucky to see the Beast or Dopey. Your little boy(s) will also enjoy the ride with Finding Nemo and Friends. Kids and adults will enjoy riding Soarin. Very cool ride!!
We took our little boy to Disney in December 2010. We had been told that he probably wouldn't like Epcot much, since there was so much walking and not as many rides. Well, they were wrong! My little guy really enjoyed Epcot. From the Little Mermaid ride to Sorin' to Fast Track, he love them all. And he rode them all! He enjoyed walking around all the coutries and seeing the different Santa Clauses and he really enjoyed trying all the different types of food. His favorite part was Illuminations at night. He loved watching the fireworks and light show and can't wait to go back and see it again!
You have to love Disney! I don't care how old you are, but once you enter the gates, you feel like you're a kid! The rides are amazing, yes there are lines, but for most of them it's worth the wait. I CANNOT wait to go back and explore Disney some more!
EPCOT is the place for all ages: Adults will enjoy foods from all around the world as well as the science-technology part of epcot. Kids of all ages (though I think older children will appreciate here more) will enjoy the learning part of epcot (another plus for adults as well) and visual candy that only disney can give to its visitors. I also think this has changed alot compared to 80's when EPCOT opened b/c it is trying to gear very young kids as well. Anyway, yes, this is very enjoyable for all. This is probably my favorite themed park in Disney.
Even with a 13-month-old, we loved loved loved Epcot. On our two-week trip, we went to Epcot three times and tried to eat at each country represented. Our little one loved all there was to look at in Mexico and China, and I adore the pastry shop in France, and the sushi in Japan was worth the price. My husband loved the beer selections in England and Germany also. Oh, and the rides are pretty good too! Epcot was not at all crowded on the days we went so we had lots of space for my son to crawl around a little bit so he wasn't sitting in the stroller all day (he wasn't walking yet). So I also brought plenty of hand sanitizer too. I do remember seeing a kids play area, but was definitely for older toddlers and kids.
Out of all of the amusement parks, Epcot is definitely my favorite. We have been there several times and each time has been a blast. What we love most about Epcot is that it can truly be a cultural experience for the entire family, since you can choose to dine at their various restaurants that each represent a different country from around the world. It can be on the pricey side, but we believe it is a special treat that is worth every penny.
Epcot is my favorite park by far. I love that the pace is a little slower than the Magic Kingdom, but with some really great sites. EPCOT was for the older crowd, but they are making it a little more "younger child" friendly with rides like a beefed up Imagination Ride, Nemo invading the Living Seas and Lion King Show. It's a nice relaxing way to spend the day, at Disney but not at Magic Kingdom.
Restaurant recomendations: The Garden Grille at the Land Pavillion. Make reservations. But this this a character lunch where the food is wholesome and served family style. The restaurant slowly rotates around the Land Pavillion while you eat, 360 dining experience with Chip, Dale, Minnie, Mickey and the gang. It's a great experience!
Of course the countries are top notch! Make sure you catch the Norway ride (6 and up) and Mexico ride (kinda like It's a Small World) Our favorite is the French Pastry Shop for a special treat and then Fish N' Chips in England.
Make sure you stick around for Illuminations, the firework/laser show on the lake around the World Showcase. It's stellar!!!
Older Kids must do's: Test Track (get a fast pass) Mission to Mars,Soarin, Norway, Body Wars in the Life Pavillion.
Snooze fest-Energy. It's like a 45 minute slow moving ride with lots of science. They tried to snazz it up with Ellen DeGeneris starring, but I hate it now as much as I ddid when my parents forced me to ride it as a kid telling me "you'll learn something!"
Fun things to do to sit down and cool off: Listen to the Lands. Ride a boat through Disney's hydroponic gardens. Cool! And of course, the giant golf ball! They've made some great upgrades to the ride, it's worth re-visiting!
Epcot is a classic park that you just have to go to if you are going to Disney World. They have great rides, including the classic Epcot Center. Kids will love it and so will adults. It is, of course, very expensive like all the other Disney parks. Be prepared to pay a lot for your food and tickets!
Man do I love Epcot. My favorite Disney park for a mini world vacation. Love to stroll through the Countries and try different foods, souveneirs from around the world and presentations. It is a little dry for the kiddos (my 2 and 5 year old), but they have recently added a scavenger hunt of sorts with Kimpossible that is lots of fun for the ahem...kids (and my 35 year old husband). That should keep them partly entertained throughout the countries. The future world portion of Epcot I can skip, but there are some portions that the kids will be interested in. Some areas play like giant video games, so they'll want to play here for a while. Overall, a good compromise for the family at this park, but it won't be the kid's favorite.
Epcot is great because of all the different cultures. The food is awesome! i would have to say my favorite is the french resteraunt that serves the french onion soup. Then there is the great mexican resteraunt that has the boat ride before you sit down and eat. A great park for every age!
The Epcot theme park in Disney World has entertainment of all kinds. There is a Future World area that reveals the possibilities of technology in the future, and a World Showcase area that highlights different countries on the world. Like any other Disney park, there's food, entertainment, rides, and shows.
