Edward Ball Nature Trail at the University of West Florida

"Keep your eyes open-you might see a snake!"

When we need to get out of the house, we take the kids for a walk on the Edward Ball Nature Trail on the University of West Florida campus.  Park in Lot G for quick access to the trail.  The boardwalk has been restored since Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and is a great place to take a leisurely stroll.  While there you will see so much flora and fauna.  We have seen turtles, birds, rabbits, butterflies, and even a snake and an alligator!  The trail is also a great place to take some family pictures!  You can bring a picnic lunch but you will want to eat it outside of the trails.
