"Really neat and educational"

It is amazing to see everything Edison invented and had patents on. What a brillant mind. It is also cool to see the inventions and tools from those ealry years. Even the light switches in the houses were fascinating.
Seeing all the old Ford cars were really neat too!
I think this is a great educational experience!

"Fun with the Family"

Fort Myers’s most venerable attraction sits right on the river and takes you into the home and workplace of a genius. The tour guides are enthusiastic and deliver fun anecdotes about the famed light bulb inventor. On the ninety-minute walking tour, you’ll be amazed at how many other things Edison invented. He owned 1,000 patents on everything from the phonograph to the movie camera. One of the best parts of the tour is the botanical gardens surrounding Edison’s home. He was an avid botnist, and his outstanding collection of tropical plants proves it. Many he gathered looking for a cheaper way to produce rubber for his friend Harvey Firestone, who also wintered in Forty Myers. The tour continues on to the winter home of Edison's friend and next-door neighbor, none other than Hentry Ford, whose estate is not quite as impressive because of the Fords' simple tastes. Thomas Edison, you'll soon discover, remains the patron saint of Fort Myers, with a college, mall, and all kinds of things named for him. Each year the town celebrates his legacy with the Edison Pageant of Light Festival, which culminates in a lighted night parade. It goes on for two weeks in early February.
