Minnesota is a fabulous place to visit, especially during the beautiful summer months when temperatures are mild, and there are so many lakes around. However, living there for 3 and 1/2 years, we discovered that the winters tend to be miserably long. So, we were VERY excited when we discovered that there was an indoor park close by. Edinborough is well kept, affordable, and fun! One area is a big fun treehouse with lots of room to climb, slide, crawl, jump, etc. Then there is a separate room that is just a great big gym with a bounce house, lots of balls, riding toys, etc. It is such a fabulous place to take the kids and let them run and spend their energy, especially when they've been cooped up all winter. They also do birthday parties!
Great family friendly place. Excellent variety of things for the kids to do, of all ages. The indoor park is great. The indoor gardens are great. Clean. Very family friendly. The staff is excellent. I think that they all must love their jobs, or pretended really well. Highly recommend.
Owned by the city of Edina, and located just outside of Minneapolis proper, Edinborough Park's Adventure Peak offers almost an acre of indoor fun.
According to the city of Edina, "Adventure Peak is one of the largest indoor play structures in the country"--and in a city where warm weather is in short supply-this play place should be on any mom's short list!
The "Peak" is a 44-by-44-by-37 foot high climbing, low crawling, slip sliding Northwoods adventure. The play gym is anchored by a looming 30-foot tall oak tree and parents watch their little ones from a series of benches that frame the perimeter, making it a great place for a playmate: the kids can slide down one of the four giant tube slides as you chat with other adults and watch the exit to make sure your children are okay.
While the giant, towering structure Adventure Peak is fun for school aged kids, the city of Edina didn't forget toddlers. There's also an area for toddlers to explore. The toddler area encourages climbing, crawling, sliding and even bouncing in an inflatable air bounce house.
There's also a gym attached to the facility. This area offers plenty of space for kids to play basketball, push their friends around on scooters and go crazy in the bounce house.
Admission is roughly $5.00 for non-residents and the only thing you'll want to remember are your socks and some snacks for the kids. All of the activities at Adventure Peak will make them hungry for sure. Should also be noted that Fuddrucker's and Five Guys are not too far away--so if you need to feed the kids burgers or something like that, you can easily do that too.
