"Fun with the Family"

Once surrounded by farmland, this was the home of master writer Edgar Allan Poe and his wife, Virginia, during the 1840s. Poe moved to the Bronx hoping the fresh air would restore Virginia’s health, and it was here, “in a kingdom by the sea,” that he wrote “Annabel Lee,” the haunting poem inspired by his beloved wife.
