Dunn's Mountain Nature and Historic Preserve

"What a view!!"

While small, Dunns Mountain Nature and Historic Preserve is a must see.  On a perfectly clear day you can see for miles..and I mean miles.  Over 27 counties in the Piedmont of NC worth.  From the skyline of Charlotte to the bustling city of Winston-Salem, it is all included in the view.  At over 1000 feet above sea level there isn't much you won't see.  From the amazing rock formations along the 3/10 mi trail to the top of the mountain to the quarries below, every view is breathtaking.  

Once you reach the top, by foot or by complementary shuttle, relax and have a picnic at one of the many tables or relax on one of the lovely benches nestled in the trees.   Talk with a informative "guide" who will intrigue you with information about the area.
