I lived near Waco when I was younger so when I took my kids to visit their great grandparent's we decided to make a stop here. The museum offers a lot of information on the history and importance of Dr. Pepper. My 7 year old absolutely loved the fact that she could get a Dr. Pepper made from a soda "jerk" and have Dr. Pepper ice cream. For the adults, if you like Dr. Pepper be sure to grab a six-pack of Dublin Dr. Pepper which is made the old fashioned way with pure Imperial Cane Sugar.
The museum is located next to old downtown Waco and it's a beautiful trip.
The soft drink Dr Pepper was invented in Waco by Charles Curtis Alderton, and the recipe has remained unchanged since he first mixed up the concoction at the Old Corner Drug Store in 1885. The Dr Pepper Museum, in the original 1906 bottling plant, honors Alderton and the history of the unique drink. Featured are a restored soda fountain, many interactive displays for children, and a tour through the manfacturing facilities. Admission for the soda fountain or gift shop free.
