A backstage walking tour that lets you interact, feed and touch dolphins. Recommended for ages 8 and up. Admission required. Reservations recommended.
We were entranced as we watched from very close up, a mother dolphin swimming with her 2 week old baby. Despite the scorching Texas heat, we stood and watched them come up for water and swim gracefully away, side by side. Later, we got to signal to a dolphin to do a trick, feed him some fish and have our picture taken with him. Such an amazing experience! I didn't know petting a dolphin would be so enjoyable, and so soft!
This backstage tour takes approximately 1 hour and guests will learn a lot about dolphins! It is recommended for ages 8 and above and I would agree. My younger children would not be able to pay attention for this hour long tour and I would be frustrated. For shorter tours that younger children would more likely enjoy, check out the Dolphin Encounter.
I received a complimentary Dolphin Discovery Tour as part of the "Race to the Alamo", hosted by the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau. http://alamo.visitsanantonio.com/race/ I received no other compensation and all opinions in this review are my own.
