Tower Of Terror is not for the weak! My 4 year old rode it because she was tall enough, but she was freaked out. Rockin' Rollercoaster is my fav! A definite do! Eat at the Sci Fi Cafe. The food is okay, but the atmosphere is a definite must see for both kids and adults. It's a drive in movie theater and you eat in the almost dark in a car. It's so cool. Make sure you go straight to the Pixar area, we couldn't get near it by the time we got there. Do the Kermit the Frog 3D attraction. All the kids loved it. Mater and Lightening McQueen from Cars are there, so look for them. The stunt show is a lot of fun to watch, and the backlot tour is great too, but more for preteens and teenagers, not small children.
The only ride here that remotely appealed to my toddler was the Toy Story one, however, due to it's huge popularity (and maybe the fact that it's the only younger kid ride), the line was 5 hours long and Fast Passes were gone as soon as the park opened. There is absolutely no way I could wait in line for that amount of time with a 3 year old. However, there really was a ton of great stuff that appeals to the older kids (and adults) and my husband and I can't wait to go back to enjoy the "big kid" stuff.
Since the Toy Story ride hit the Studios, this park has really improved. We absolutely were fascinated the first time we experienced this arcade-style game and it is a family favorite. The food options at this park aren't as great as the other Disney locations. Our daughter loves the Disney shows!
Honestly, out of the four Orlando Disney parks, this one is my least favorite, but it's still a great park! Head for thrills at Rockin Rollercoaster or the Tower of Terror, or take it fairly easy on the Backlot Tour or kids areas. This park seems more geared towards an older crowd. Even though they have Playhouse Disney live, there wasnt too much my little one could do. Still an overall great park.
I love taking my kids here!I Think that the best part of the park is the Toys Story attraction.Mind you if you go here you wont spend all day, this is kind of a half day park. It has many things for preschoolers(Handy many show)that they will enjoy. I think it still needs a lot more atractions to get more attention from disney visitors. So maybe if you have a 2 day pass or more, it will be a great way to finish you visit to disney.
Our family of four moved to Florida from New Jersey in 2002. My children were ages 13 and 15 when we visited Disneys Hollywood Studios, while it was called MGM. It was a great place for the family to spend the day. Some of our favorite rides were the Tower of Terror and Aerosmith's Rockin Roller Coaster. I would recommend this to residents and tourists, especially if you have children.
When we went to Disney in December of 2010, I really didn't think my active little six year old boy would like the shows. They turned out to be one of his favorite things! He loved seeing the Muppetts and loved the Stunt Driver Show, Indiana Jones and the Star Wars show! We finally got to ride Toy Story Mania and he thought that was the best ride ever! We stayed for a showing of Fantasmic, and although there was no seating available and we had to stand, it was totally worth it! The Osborne lights from Arkansas were set up in this park and it really put the Christmas Spirit in everyone! It's a great park and we can't wait to go back!
To be honest, I had trouble remembering which rides were here besides the Tower of Terror. It's totally worth going for that ride though. Oh, there's the Aerosmith Rockin' Roller Coaster, which is fun. And the Toy Story ride that everyone's talking about. Unfortunately, I didn't ever get to ride that one because I stayed back with my 13-month-old while the rest of my family rode. We met Buzz and Woody instead. This park is really for older kids. I don't think there was a single ride I was able to take my little one on.
I love all the Disney parks, but this one ranks at my least favorite for sure, particularly with the 2 and 5 year old kids. There is only a few rides of interest to them (Toy Story Mania, with a huge line as it's the only kid attraction). Other than that, this one will appeal more to older kids and young adults. The majority of the rides and attractions are just more intense than the other parks.
We can almost skip this one...
This was our first park on oue week long stay and was a great park to start with. It wasnt huge so we were able to see/do everything in a whole day! We met all the characters and were able to see the parade.
If you go during the winter I suggest checking out the Osborne Family lights! It was amazing and the best attraction at this park!
One of my favorite parks. I am such a movie buff that I couldn't love this park more. There is also a character that is a little dinosaur type dragon thing that is so cute. I don't remember it's name. I also remember loving the Honey I Shrunk the kids playground where you are shrunk to the size of bugs to crawl around in an oversized yard. We also had a delicious dinner in an old fashioned car while watching old cheesy B movie science fiction trailers. Lots of creativity here.
I love Hollywood studios for all of the shows there are! Being currently pregnant and living near the parks this is the best bet for me. My favorite show and one you can not miss is the last show of the evening FANTASMIC! Make sure to get there early as it tends to fill up fast.. its that good! Also during the day when its hot go check out the American idol show its inside and air conditioned!
I love this park and while the best rides are aimed at older children and adults, there's still much to do for everyone. You have to ride Tower of Terror and the Rockin Rollercoaster. You haven't experienced the park if you don't. Best coaster I've ever been on. It'll scare your pants right off. Probably a park your young ones may not care if they miss.
Formerly Disney's MGM Studios, Disney's Hollywood Studios offers fun for the whole family. Though I think most of the rides and attractions are geared more to the older kids! This is probably one of the more fun areas in Disney World for teenagers, there are "BIG THRILL" rides here such as Aerosmith Rocking RollerCoaster & Tower of Terror! There are also some shows here and the Back Lot Tour (a favorite of mine!) This would be a good park to visit mid-vacation, this seems to be less busy and thus more relaxing when your getting overwhelmed with being in the parks each day!
I can't say enough about Disney as a great family destination. We have been to disney several times now and we contiue to go back, because there is something for everyone. The rides, like tower of terror are great for the adults, while the little ones loved the playhouse disney show and the Honey I Shrunk the kids playground. If you eat at DHS, try the 50's prime time cafe. It is a unique and fun atmosphere.
Really - this is geared for bigger kids. However - there are several shows that are fun for little ones (Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney). The line for Toy Story was always too crazy - though I heard it was great! Great food options - quick and sit down.
This is a great park to visit with older children, ages 10 plus – definitely a must see location for all teenagers! As soon as you enter the park you feel like you have been transported back in time to the “Old School” ideal of what Hollywood really is. Everything is set-up to simulate being in Hollywood, and it’s easy to pretend that you are there. Of all the Disney parks I think this may be the smallest in size, which is great because you don’t get exhausted walking from one end of the park to the other like you do in some of the larger parks. But there is still plenty to do and see, and I would recommend taking at least two days to fully explore the park in it’s entirety.
I have visited Disney World many times but find Disney's Hollywood Studios to be, by far, the most interesting and entertaining. It is probly the smallest park of all that Disney has to offer but requires a couple days, at least, to capture all that it has to offer.
The stunt car exhibition/display is the best representation of how movie stunts are accomplished that I have ever witnessed.
I will take my family and others back to see this park several more times and that is more than I can say about the rest of the parks. They are good but not worth a second trip.
The fact that the actual size of this park is relatively small makes it all the better for walking around and especially so if you are pushing strollers or have young children or old parents.
I would suggest putting this park first on your list. Visit another park another day and then come back. You may want to do this several times so that you get to see all that there is to see.
I loved Hollywood Studios, as soon as you walk through the gate, you are feel like you have been transported to the old era Hollywood. I love walking in all the shops and walking down Disney's version of Hollywood Blvd. The cast members and characters are amazing in the park, so friendly. I love the rides and there is so much to see. I love the new Toy Story area and recommend getting there at park opening to get a fastpass for Toy Story Mania, or you could be in line for over an hour, but the ride is so worth it. This park is great for all ages, there is so much more than just Tower of Terror and Rockin Rollercoaster, this park has something for everyone.
My older children had a great time at Disneys Hollywood Studios. My husband and two kids rode, "Tower of Terror". They absolutely loved it! The grounds are really beautiful there. We went when they premiered Star Wars. It was an amazing time. There is so much to do there! Worth the trip!
