"Good transportation"

On a busy day at Disneyland, we hopped on the train right after we got into the park and rode it around to New Orleans Square to get us closer to our destination of Spash Mountain..  This helped us avoid the major crowds walking down Main Street. It was a short ride, but relaxing.  It was difficult for us to unload our strollers and fold them up for the ride, but it was worth it for the transportation sake.

As a side note, my family does not like the diorama of the Primeval World during the ride between Tomorrowland and Main Street with Disney's interpretation of the world as he thinks it looked millions of years ago, so we usually don't ride the rails on that last 3/4 of the track.

"Great Break!"

This is a great option for putting your feet up and taking in Disneyland. The train will take you all arounf Disneyland and you get to see some unique things not available by foot. This is a great oppurtunity to sit the kids down and have a snack and hydrate. The best for all the kids is the Dino land - it is between Autopia and Main Street stations. This is a Train exclusive so don't miss out!

"Fun transportation or attraction"

We use the railroad as both a ride and a means of transportation.  The only downside is the folding and packing of the stroller to get on the train.  The morse code that you hear tapping outside the New Orleans Square entrance is supposed to be the speech Walt Disney gave on opening day translated into Morse Code.
The train ride takes you through beautiful parts of the park and even through two dioramas of the grand canyon and pre-historic dinosaurs between Tomorrowland and Main Street USA.
