A few weekends ago we had a little extra money and decided to take the kids to the discovery world museum. This is the first time we have gone, it was a Saturday which they are open 10am to 5pm. It was very educational for both the kids and adults. The staff were very friendly and were knowledgeable about all the exhibits. The kids enjoyed the aquarium the most and seeing all the different types of fish from the Great Lakes. They also liked the lakes lumber ship that they were able to climb around. The only down fall of the discovery world is the price, it is a little high for a family of 4 it was $16.95 for adults and $12.95 for each kid and about $10 to park. It does not cost anything to be on the grounds the admission prices were to enter the inside of the museum.
Discovery world is right on Lake Michigan and right next to the Art Musuem. We found it to be more expensive and not worth the price for our young children (4 and 2). It does have some great actvities for older kids. It also has a great aquarium downstairs and when we go is where we spend most of our time.
Was not a good experience. Over rated. The place is actually dirty. We are in our 20's and did not enjoy it at all our son whos 2 of course like it but didn't love it!. The aquarium is small, expected so much more. They say they have a cafe, it's gas station food. Hard buns with semi heated hot dogs or brats and a bag of chips. Admission to get in was $34.50 for two adults(our 2 yr old was free!) and $7.00 parking. We walked the whole thing in 45 minutes. Don't waste your money.
