We stopped by here to meet up with cousins and my kids (ages 2-10) begged to go back the next day. There are lots of unique play options that aren't available at other parks. They especially loved the big teeter-totter with four seats on it. My boys (ages 8, 6, and 4) likes climbing the cliff wall. There were lots of other kids here which was great because my kids made new friends. Great park, lots of places for parents to sit, definitely recommend it.
Discovery Playground is located in Spokane Valley, not far from the Spokane Valley Mall. This is a gem of a playground! My family (mom and dad in their 30’s, 7 year old daughter) visited on a Saturday morning in the Fall. There were many families with young children enjoying the park, but it did not feel crowded. Our 7 year old was a bit old for the activities offered, but she was still able to enjoy things for about 45 minutes. This playground would be perfect for children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years.
The playground includes play areas incorporating a variety of stimuli (auditory, visual, and tactile) to entertain children. There are swings, a slide, musical instruments, a water pad, a sand box, a teeter-totter, plenty of things to crawl on, and a bunch of bright colors decorating everything.
I highly recommend this beautiful park for families with small children. This is a great way to spend time outside playing together without having to spend any money!
What a great day with the kids at Discovery Playground. The park is built around the theme of exploring "Washington State". There is a splash pad to cool off on a warm day. My son loved the bear dozing in the den. His favorite activity was digging for fossils. The playground has "traditional" playground equipment like slides & rock climbing along with an area to entice your senses. The herbal garden is very fragrant. There is a large shelter for a nice family picnic. I took many great pictures that captured the parks vibrant colors. My son was worn out after an afternoon at this playground. We are looking forward to returning on our next visit to Spokane.
This park is small, but absolutely amazing! They could easily charge several dollars admission and I would pay for it, but they don't! It's free! They have a splash pad, a sandbox, a giant pumpkin, trampolines, slides, everything! There is plenty for both older and younger kids alike, as well as parents!
