Over 25 "Wacky" attractions including our three-quarter acre Lost Trail Maze, Panning for Gemstones, and Wacky Water Golf. You'll have a great time at Alabama's Big Cave and DeSoto Caverns Family Fun Park. Water attractions close at the end of October and reopen in April.
DeSoto Caverns are a series of caves and a tourist attraction located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
The caverns are named for Spanish conquistador Hernando DeSoto who visited the area in 1540 AD and formed a relationship with Chief Tecumseh of the Muskogean tribe.
Today, besides exploring the caves with a guided tour (very child friendly), there are many other activities to check out when touring the grounds.
There is "gemstone panning", where you pan for treasure in little troughs, a 3/4 acre wooden maze to wander through, Happy's Hoops (a basketball obstacle course), a climbing wall, bow and arrow shoot, human sized hamster wheel, a spin and tilt ride, a train ride, a bath tub race course where you drive a bath tub on wheels, Crystal Find (digging for crystals in sand), Wacky Water Golf (mini golf with water hazards), air cannon/nerf ball wars, disc golf, cave crawl, pedal go-carts, butterfly house...and many more things! There is plenty to do with your family!
There is also a camp ground (with Wi-Fi! Woohoo!), and you can even arrange to sleep in the cave.
