Our family loves the Des Moines farmers market. There is great live music the entire morning, tons of free fun activities for the kids and awesome food. There are thousands of people there every weekend. An awesome place to meet friends, have a cup of coffee or a strawberry smoothie and a local made breakfast. First thing we have to buy are the donut holes for my boys!
I would describe the Farmer's Market as family friendly, but not something kids will get su[er excited about. They have a wide variety of vendors. There is more than just fresh food, they have artisans as well. There are quite often samples available. On a nice day it is a great place to walk around.
The Des Moines Farmer's Market is a great place to get out and be social. Lots of great stuff to see! There are regularly bands, musicians, etc performing at the farmer's market. Terrific food is always available.
My kids love to go to the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. We usually run in to old friends. It's a great time for the whole family.
I love the Des Moines farmer's market! It's a great place to sample all of the wonderful local produce. Food stamps are often excepted for those who are low income. Most farmers are happy to let you sample before you purchase! It's so nice to deal with friendly people that grew the food that you purchase and eat!
The downtown farmer's market takes over the downtown area of Des Moines every Saturday morning with vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, fair food, textiles, plants and more! Always a fun experience for the kids and its great to teach them about buying fresh, local food on top of the people watching. Stop into Java Joe's for a cup of coffee on 4th while you're out and about.
