"Love the Zoo, All the Time"

The zoo is best experienced when you can go all the time.  In the sprin gis the worst because of the thousands of kids - busses and busses of groups.  Other than that, winter is quiet and tranquil, summer in the morning is tranquil and fun, and fall is amazing.

I love the polar bears and seals for kids, and the gorilla too - those are the best kis exhibits.

"A Great Zoo in Colorado, fun!"

We enjoyed our trip this last summer to the Denver Zoo!  My small children especially loved the animals, of course, and love the Lions and Elephants the best.  It was very clean and had lots of walking areas that were lush with greenery. The animals looked well cared for and "happy" if they can be.  The price was right, however they would not allow us to bring in food, which was a huge downer for us. Who wants to spend that kind of money on lunch there??  Also, the parking was not as easy to find a space, so we had to waste time there.  There was also some construction in the Parking lot, so our stroller couldn't navigate very well, which counts against them, too.

"Denver Zoo"

The Denver Zoo was a lot of  fun, but it was a little small for what we are used to.  Our kids loved it though!  There was so much to do other then just walk and look at the animals.  The more time you have, the better!  We had a one year old and a three year old and both of them loved it.  They had all different types of transportation to get around the zoo, too.  So if you forgot your stroller, it was totally fine!

"Easy to love"

What kids don't enjoy a trip to the zoo?  Parking is easy in Denver and there are many free days scattered throughout the year.  We always head straight to the polar bears because they are so popular with our boys. And when they were younger, the carosel and the little train were definately a hit.

"Some Fun attractions"

The Denver zoo has several fun attractions for kids and families.  There is a nursery for new born baby animals that is always a must stop for our family.  We also enjoy the great gorilla area, where you can get close to the glass to really see the gorillas.  I wish it had a child's hands on area, if they added that I would give it 5 stars!

"Denver Zoo"

Taking the kids to the zoo in Denver is a magical experience for all. From the animals to the Merry Go Round to the train there is something for everyone. Many restaurants can be found throughout the park with fare ranging from horrible to okay. Admission is decent (better if you live nearby to get a membership!). Definitely worth the visit.

"Great for all ages"

We joined the zoo as members when my son was not even a year old, and he now knows all the animal names and sounds. He just loves going there, and it's a super kid-friendly place. There is, unfortunately, quite a bit of construction going on right now so if you don't live here, it certainly won't live up to some other city's zoos, but they have some nice exhibits and when the new one is ready it will be even better!

"Polar Fun!"

This Zoo has the best setup of any zoo that I have visited. The polar bear area is great. You can watch them swim with an underwater view. The shows are excellent & very entertaining for all. The restrooms are nice & clean. The food is good & not overpriced like some larger city attractions. The train is a huge hit with the little kids. It's hard to see everything in one day!

"ALOT OF FUN BUT EXPENSIVE"

I love the fact that the zoo has different things going on while your there (shows, feeding times ect...) The Denver Zoo has a HUGE variety of animals. The only negative thing I can say is just like every where its EXPENSIVE. I payed $8.50 for a hotdog, a bag of chips and a juice! I would recommend bringing your own lunch!

"Christmas Zoo Lights"

The Zoo Lights are wonderful! There are many light displays to look at. They also have various animal exhibits and hands on demonstrations.  The lines can be long so get there early. Dress for the weather. It does involve a lot of walking so make sure to bring your stroller. Great night activity!

"Awesome!"

I really enjoyed going to visit this zoo! It was very pretty and the food was good. I liked that the zoo was very green and the people were friendly. I loved that there were many different things to see and do; we spent several hours looking at the many different animals and when we left there were still several things that we had not seen or done. I loved the giraffe exhibit especially!

"Fantastic time! "

My son and I were on vacation visiting family in November and wanted to see lots of animals. So to the zoo we went! We went with my sister-in-law, brother-in-law and there twin girls.

The good impression started as soon as we arrived in the parking lot. They offered lots of free parking. Next was the admission. I have been to other larger zoo's that charge a much larger admission, so was greatly surprised when not only was the adult charge only $10, but my son (19 months at the time) was free! So after paying away we went to see all the animals.

We choose to go on a weekday so the zoo was not very crowded, which was very nice since we had 2 strollers. We enjoyed walking all around and enjoying the animals. We even were able to bring in our own lunch and sit and watch the sea lions play while eating lunch.

It was a great day, and we will have the memories for a lifetime!

"One of our Favorite Places!"

Our three girls (2, 3, and 4) love spending time at the Denver Zoo!  A membership is well worth the cost and allows us to take short trips without worrying too much about the expense.  The carousel is a big hit with our crew, not to mention all the animals.  Zoo Lights is also a must see!

"We love the Zoo!"

I have 4 kids, ages 7,6,5 and 4 and we ALL love the Denver Zoo.
The grandparents got my kids a pass to the zoo for their birthday last year. We have so much fun, every time we go.
We always pack a lunch, and get a map at the entrance to decide which animals we want to be sure and see each time. It makes it a relaxing trip when you don't have the pressure of trying to see everything in one visit. Our favorite animal there is probably the capybara. Pick up a copy of the book Cappyboppy and read it before you head to the zoo. It is worth a trip to the zoo just to get a look at this amazing animal!

"a must do"

Excellent parking, stroller & handicap accessible and affordable. The zoo is open year round and there is always something neat to see. Whether it be your favorite old animal, a newborn or the beautiful Christmas Light display, the Denver Zoo is a must see.

"Denver Zoo"

Denver Zoo is working hard to update some of the exhibits. The newer areas are great, but some of the older stuff makes you feel a little sorry for the animals. They are opening a new Asian Tropics exhibit in 2012 and I can't wait for that. It sounds amazing! Overall a fun day out with the kids, and the train ride is always a big hit.

"great year-round"

We love the Denver Zoo - we had memberships when our kids were littler.  It's great to just go and stroll around for an hour or two with a picnic.  Or to plan a longer day.  Our favorite is the Lorakeet Aviary where you can buy a little cup of nectar for $1 to hold in your hands as the lorakeets come to drink - great fun even for little ones!

"AMAZING"

the Denver zoo really goes over and beyond at their zoo. There was tons of animals, and it was so nice to see them in a close to actual habitat. Prices are reasonable, unlike some major attractions. I would recommend this zoo to anyone visiting Denver!

"Great zoo, Get There Early!"

A very cute zoo!  Lots of animals.. but not as close-up as other zoos I've visited.  Gorgeous layout.. free-roaming peacocks, etc.  Please get there early, or you'll be taking quite the hike from your parking spot, to the zoo.  Check their website for FREE DAYS!

"Well worth a membership"

As a lover of animals, my husband and I have been taking our girls, 16 months, to the zoo since they were born.  The layout of the zoo is wonderful and beautiful.  With peacocks roaming freely and trees for shade it's a wonderous place to go any time of the year.
Even though seeing the animals is fantastic, there is much more to do at the zoo.  As a member, even not, there is a story time for the younger kids and activity time for the older kids.  Even though these do cost extra, it's the same if you went to another kid activity store or place.  For free there are tours and at certain time of the day they have experts come out and explain about certain animals and sometimes bring some out for the kids and you to look at.
Every month the zoo has lots of activities to go do and our girls never get sick of going to see animals!  If they do, there is a carousel and a train that takes you around on a long loop.  Our girls were a little apprehensive of the carousel at first, now they cannot get enough of it.
One tip for going to the zoo however, is to get there early.  Parking fills up fast and it can be a long walk in for little and big tikes excited to see some big furry beasts!!!
