Orchard Tours - Mon-Fri @ 10:30am by appointment
Children will have a tour of the orchard, will be shown how to pick an apple (correctly) & will have a container which will hold about 3 apples. They will return to the barn and have a demonstration of our apple peeler.,( it will make apple slinkies!) Next they will have a treat of apple cookies and glass of apple cider, and apple stickers to take home with the apples they have picked at Denver Dan’s.
We do have lunches and desserts but many groups bring picnic lunches- we do have picnic areas.. It’s a fun time for all! ‘Fee is $6.00 Minimum-5 children or adults
If you are interested in Sara’s Animals, you can make arrangements to do both&/or you can also coordinate with “Cookin’ Kids” and make a day of it. Hope to see you. Cookin’ Kids are Making Pies – Come Join Us!
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays — during the season 10am -OR- 2pm
Two 1-1/2 hour sessions are provided, one at 10:00 in the morning, and one at 2:00 in the afternoon.
For kids age 3 & up. Minimum class is 5 “kids”. Kids get to roll their own dough, place in 6” pie pan, and fill the crust with pie makins’. Then they learn to roll the top crust, place it on the pie, and crimp the edges. Any leftover dough goes into cookies that they can top with decorations! Their pies and cookies are baked and placed into individual containers for the kids to take home and share! The kids do a great job and are very proud of their accomplishments!
Please call for reservations. Classes are limited to 20 students/class for a max of 40 students in both sessions. Ideal for school field trips!! Cost is $10.00 per child.
A is for Animal - Who: For any school group, large or small. If you have a large group and want to participate in Cookin’ Kids as well, your group can be split with one-half of the group cooking, while the other group learns about animals and then the two groups switch.
What: A fun, interactive presentation of farm animals from around the world. Students will learn where the various animals originated and how they are used by humankind. Animals may include sheep, goats, alpacas, a goose, and a duck, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, a pig, and an emu. All continents except Antarctica are represented.
When: T or TH from 9-4. Presentation lasts about 45 minutes. Call to schedule.
Cost: Free! However, “A is For Animals” is a non-profit organization dependent on private donations for our survival, so any donations are much appreciated.
