"Nice airport"

I really like the Denver airport.  It is huge!  Many places to eat and relax while waiting on your flight.  I do hate flying into the Denver airport though.  The turbulence is always horrible and makes me sick.  The bathrooms are really clean too.  Denver is a very pretty place to visit.  My kids love to play on the moving sidewalks there.  Great entertainment for them if you have a layover.

"plane"

I do not like the Denver airport very much.  It was too much work going by myself with two kids.  The dropping off area was a joke!  You had to take a train to go from the check in area to any terminal.  It was very stressful with kids and a stroller.  And it was so busy!

"Awesome Airport!"

I have traveled in and out of DIA multiple times over the years. It is a large airport and for the most part pretty easy to navigate. There are signs everywhere to direct you to where you need to go. Plus, there are plenty of restrooms and this makes traveling much easier. If you plan for security, it's not that bad considering the state of the US right now in this regard. Once through, there are so many shops and places to eat that you can easily waste any extra time you allowed yourself for security if you get through sooner than planned. The tram is awesome for traveling to and from where you need to be. Parking and finding where to drop off can be difficult so definitely leave time for that!

"No problem flying with an infant!"

We flew into Denver International Airport with our 6-month-old daughter. We had no trouble with the additional supplies and bags she required. We were permitted to gate-check her stroller. We also greatly enjoyed the specialty candy shoppe in the concourse from which we departed. A good flight!

"BIG Airport!"

This is a HUGE airport. The terminals are connected by a train, although you can walk between Terminal A & baggage claim/check-in via pedestrian bridge, if you choose to do that.

I traveled alone with a 7-year old & it was a bit hectic. Security took forever & there was a lot of walking. Pack as light as possible with kids...my daughter got tired pulling her suitcase & we had to take a few rest stops.

On the plus side, there are several moving walkways & elevators. The train is great, but be sure you hold on tight to the poles - it's FAST! Also, you can check the estimated security wait time online - bonus!

My best advice is to find out what gate you will be arriving/departing from ahead of time, then go online & scope out a map of the airport. Know your options & where you are going. Plan ahead of time whether you need to take the train or if you can use the ped bridge. Check your baggage online & drop it with the curbside checkers.

Know your airline's baggage policy (most allow child items such as strollers & car/booster seats to be checked in at the gate at no additional cost when traveling with children). This way, you can avoid counter check in & just check thses large items as you board (ask for a gate  check ticket from the people at the gate before they start the boarding process to streamline even more).

"pretty and convenient"

I may be biased but DIA is one of my favorite airports.  I travel quite a bit and feel that the layout of DIA is really easy to navigate everything runs really smoothly.  Even at peak times, the security lines move rather quickly.  The airport itself is beautiful - I love sitting next to out of town visitors as we land - they always comment on the tent architecture.

"Sprauling Hub with bad family lanes"

Denver International Airport, aka DIA or DEN (its official airport code) is a great example of token family friendliness.  Family restrooms are located in various spots but are always occupied by groups who seem to lack children (I once found one filled with airport employees apparently on breaks).  Most shops and family friendly restaurants are before the TSA security lines.  Plus it lacks one of the only good things airports have instituted since 9/11, family lines through security.  Sure they have a family screening area, but you must go through the rest of the line with everyone else, lugging your carseat and child through one of the most brutal bombardments of boredom since the DMV.  At least the ceiling is interesting enough to keep babies occupied for hours.
The airport is a hub for a lot of carriers including United and Southwest but is in a tumultuous zone for weather so delays out are common.  In case you get stuck here, make sure you've got chargers in your carryon for any handheld toys or dvd players.  There are lot of electrical sockets that have been installed for this purpose.  To keep the little ones occupied, try to sit at one end of the underground train that runs between the 3 terminals and security, and enjoy the tunnel art.  Many of the nearby hotels have suites for long term business and family travelers so catch a hotel shuttle and stay the night to break up long trips.
