Del Mar Park is a lush nine-acre neighborhood park. This tranquil park features an outdoor basketball court, amphitheater, roller hockey rink, children’s play area, horseshoe pits, and two great barbecue and picnic areas along with a large meadow area perfect for volleyball, soccer, and frisbee games. The new play area features a 28-foot, brightly colored climbing structure with lookout points, a zip-line, a rope climbing structure, a moving play apparatus (called a Multi-Pondo – a new fashioned seesaw), a swirling slide, and newly painted swings.
Del Mar park is fantastic!!! The three story play structure is amazing though not great for young toddlers. The playground is protected from the wind and typically one of the warmest spots in Morro Bay. There are picnic tables all around the park making it a great location for a Birthday party. My daughter's third birthday was quite a success. You may want to consider reserving an area during the summer months. The kids loved the climbing wall and enormous slides. This park is definitely worth visiting!!!
This park is fantastic. Our children love this park and it's giant 4-level play structure. The creek is really neat too with lots of frogs, small fish, water spiders and muck. Also, there are steep grassy hills to roll down which conveniently provide a nice place for parents to watch their children since the park is in sort of a bowl below.
This park has lots of shaded pick nick tables and areas that are perfect for birthdays.
The only think to keep in mind is that this park is in Morro Bay so bring a sweater and sun screen because you never know if it's going to be cold and foggy or sunny and warm so be prepared either way.
Del Mar Park is one of my kids' favorite parks. They put in a new play structure a couple of years ago and the new structure has two super slides. One is 2-levels up and looks pretty steep. Don't worry, it may not look like it but they do slow down before they get to the end. The other is 3-levels up and is a curving tube slide. The kids think this is the best slide ever. The park also has lots of open space, picnic & bbq areas, and even a little creek the kids like to splash in on warmer days.
Del Mark park is a really nice park. It has a great picnic table area (available to reserve for large parties) as well as separate picnic tables sprinkled throughout the park. Rest rooms are on site as well as water fountains. The play structures are new and very clean, and well maintained. The ground cover under the play structures is chipped wood mulch. There are infant swings as well as regular swings, a 3-level play structure (steps up to level 1, ladder up to top level) and a very high slide as well. There is also a modern sort of seesaw with tires to soften the landing.
There is a small creek that runs through the park - it is a very popular area for kids to search for small frogs. A ranchland borders the park on the east side where cows can often be seen grazing.
There is also space for roller hockey and basketball. The parking lot is spacious.
It's a great place to bring a picnic and let kids run around on the grass and play.
