Daytona Fun Park is located in the heart of the action at Weirs Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee. We spent a few hours here taking in all of the attractions. The attractions are priced individually or you can buy a package to sample them all!!! The multi-attraction package is priced at about $48.00 for all attractions except the basketball bounce and trampoline bounce which were $4.00 and $10.00 respectively.
This was the first summer my 9 year old twins have been able to drive their own go-carts due to height restrictions. The height restriction here is 54 inches to drive your own car. My son, as imagined, loved the Daytona cars. He has now changed his career aspirations from NBA star to NASCAR driver. Although my husband and I got our feel of the open road pretty quickly in these gas powered machines it took a while for the 9 year olds to tire. They were in it to win it!!!. My 6 year old daughter, though not nervous also wanted to end her ride relatively early, however I think that was a function of not being able to drive. In a few years we probably will not be able to tear anyone of the kids off the ride. The course is relatively short, but well-kept and full of turns.
We also played a round of mini-golf while at the Daytona Fun Park. Again the course was well kept and child friendly. There were many plantings and water attractions which made for a pleasant round of morning mini-golf. Once we crowned a winner (……MOM!!!) we headed over to the basketball bounce.
The basketball bounce is a double sided basketball court in a bouncy house. We had never been on one before. The girls played first. The idea is to bounce up and down and try to score a point in your opponent’s hoop. It was a lot of exercise and quite difficult due to the height of the hoop, but they still had fun. My husband and son were up next and this made for a true battle. When the buzzer sounded I think that Dad was ahead by a few hoops, and my son still wanted to be a NASCAR driver. We then got ready to try out the Skytrail.
The Skytrail is a 3 story open air ropes course. You must be at least 40 inches to be harnessed in and footwear must be secured. (No Flip-flops).The height restriction comes into play because you have to be tall enough to tow your rope behind you and reach it if needed. We had never done a ropes course before and we were a bit apprehensive about being in the open air with cars whizzing by route 11, but once we got going we were put more at ease. The harness is specially constructed to fit into an over head track via a horizontal disc. The disc is never removed as you climb the obstacle so you are always secured. It took a few minutes to get used to the fact that if you fell you would be hanging from the track but we all eventually did, even our 6 year old. You can choose to do as many of the obstacles as you would like. These included tightropes, hanging jump ropes, discs and wobbly boards. None of us ever lost our footing., however periodically my 6 year old daughter would get her rope stuck because she coupled not reach up high enough to pull it. One of us needed to stay with her at all times to make sure she could continue moving. We spent about an hour on the course and could come down whenever we desired. The attendant indicated that sometime parents drop their older children to spend a few hours testing their mettle. The price to do the ropes course was $18.00.
We then sampled the batting cages which had both softball and baseball. The pitching speeds were posted on the outside of the cages which made it easy for us to find the proper cage. Last year in different batting cages our star athletes could not hit a pitch. That morning they were homerun hitters. I really think finding the right speed had much to do with our success. B y then we needed some cooling down so we headed for the bumper boats.
The boats were located on a clean pool and also sprayed water. Needless to say we were soaked by the time our ride was complete, but we did not mind since it was so warm. I would suggest either wearing a bathing suit of bringing a change of clothes because we got soaked!!!
Daytona Fun Park also has an indoor arcade and a Trampoline Bungee Jumper. The staff here was friendly and helpful and the park was very clean and well kept. If your family is visiting Weirs Beach head and looking for some fun, head over to Daytona Fun Park to enjoy some adventure.
This review is based on a complimentary visit to Daytona Fun Park. I received no other compensation besides the visit and Daytona Fun park did not state any requirements that I express a particular view.
