We live near Custer Park and it has everything you'd want in a nice neighborhood park. There are two different play structures - one for toddlers and one for the older kids. There's also a merry-go-round, slide and fantastic swing-set (you can really go high in this thing). And, there's a great softball field with beautiful grass. They also have a nice restroom which you don't always find. The people who frequent this park are very nice as well.
We love Custer Park. It is a park we head to a lot.
There are 2 playstructures there. One small one for the shorties, and one for the bigger shorties. The nice thing about the big structure is, it is really hard for the smaller kids to get up, so you don't have to worry about them getting themselves into trouble. The smaller structure has some things our guy really likes, like the ladder he can get up himself (and the rungs are really close together so he can't fall through them).
Outside of those, there are some great teeter-totters (you can adjust them so if you only have 1 kid, you can get them up and down and hold on to them and not have to work so hard!). There is also a merry-go-round and swings. There is a baseball field and a large grassy field also where the kids love to run.
When it snowed, the kids really enjoyed sledding down the small hill there too.
There are bathrooms and picnic tables.
Please just make sure to do the speed limit (25mph) on Capitol Hill Road!
Enjoy!
