Playground Info:
Parking: closest is street parking available along Hunt and Alcazar. There is also a parking lot--if the street is full.
Playstructures: new. 1 large, with things for big and little kids, though with no seperation, so best for bigger kids--one of the slides is pretty steep--Also, non-standard play equipment (stuff I've never seen before--so extra fun)!
Bathrooms: distant, down the hill by the baseball diamond
Gated: tree lined on one side and landscaping also buffers the street, partially gated from steep cliff though not completely gated off
Groundcover: rubberized
Swings: yes. 4, 2 kid and 2 infant.
Water/Sand features: in one corner of the playground there is a small sandbox that also has a spiggot.
Paved surfaces: not much.
Open space: yes-small grassy lawn area by playground, and large grassy field nearby
Shade: most of the shade is along one side-where the grass is, but the playstructure is not shaded. The sandbox does have a canopy to provide a small amount of shade.
Eating/Drinking: 1 water fountain by the Alcazar entrance of playground--a couple benches, but a great place for a blanket and picnic
Other: great view of the airport/bay...since it is at the top of the hill. Also, the lack of shade can be a problem on a hot sunny day.
