The Cottonwood Heights Ice Arena was the official practice site for Olympic gold medalist Kristyi Yamaguchi during the SLC 2002 Winter Olympics. This rink has been transformed into an Olympic-sized ice arena, has received a new mechanical freezing system, and includes a new room for party and practice use.

I took my 10 year old and 6 year old to Cottonwood Heights Ice Arena when the offered a free clinic to learn how to ice skate. My kids had never been ice skating before so I thought this would be a great opportunity to try it out and see if they liked it. They ended up loving it!. The ice arena is Olympic size. The instructors were very helpful. We had so much fun that my kids are already asking me when we can go again.
This is inside Cottonwood Heights Recreational Center. There are a lot of nights where its open skating, you just have to call ahead and find out. There are rental skates for decent prices, and they groom it well. It's a nice, kept up ice skating rink. My kids love it.
This a very fun environment and good place for a very inexpensive date. There is an area above the skating rink that you can sit and talk. Also the building has many other things to do like basketball swimming, and working out. You can easily keep you self busy for a whole evening if not for the whole day.
This is our family's favorite place to go ice skating. It's a large rink and has never been very crowded when we've been there. There are tables on the side or bleachers up top for those who just want to watch and not skate. A fun place for whole families!
