"lots to do! Plan some rest time."

I almost didn't go because of the high price, but my kids and I loved it, so I'm glad we went. My 6-yr-old daughter thinks she is brave and wanted to try the haunted houses. Some of them are open in the daytime but none are manned so you can walk through without being haunted. It was kind of cool and still a little creepy, some even too creepy. There is a kid corn maze which was perfect for my kids (6, 3 ,and 1 yrs). We did the big one too but it was long and hard. The kids wanted to be in the stroller the whole time (they provide free strollers with good off-road wheels!) and were hungry and tired. If you are going to try it be prepared to pull the kids and bring snacks. There are fun rides, playgounds, and bounce houses. There are some fun little shows too. Next time, I would plan a full day of it with a break in the middle for naps or resting time.

**There are discounts for buying tickets online and discount coupons are at the shops at thanksgiving point. I think the coupons are a bigger discount but I can't remember**

"Cornbelly's"

This place is GREAT! I went there on a first date once and it was amazingly fun! There were no awkward moments. There was too much to do and have fun with, so it was great! They have two corn mazes, one haunted and one more for kids, or those who don't like to be scared, but either one works. I loved going there!

"Crowded Crazy Fun"

Crowded, crazy and fun describes Corn Belly’s.  Maybe it’s not like that every night, but it sure was on a Thursday evening a week and a half before Halloween.  This family friendly fall activity attracts thousands of visitors in the 3 weeks that it is open.

We arrived to a packed parking lot where we were instructed to park a block away.  Luckily the venue is near Thanksgiving Point so enough free parking exists, you may just have to walk a bit to get to the entrance of Corn Belly’s.   Upon entering, the kids’ eyes all lit up, not knowing what to check out first; the bounce houses, corn maze, hay stacks, mechanical bull or fire pits and s’mores.  I felt a bit overwhelmed as my hubby couldn’t join us on this activity.  There I was, three excited kids age 3, 7 and 11 in a crowded field with activities galore.  I immediately instructed the kids to stick together so I didn’t have to send the search and rescue through the corn maze to find one of them.  Did I mention that Corn Belly’s has one of the largest corn mazes in the U.S. and this is the birthplace of the largest cornfield maze company, owning a Guinness world record title.

We headed to the bounce houses first.  I figured this would be a good place to burn energy before we tried that huge corn maze.  It worked!  The only bad part - now we had to hit the restrooms where we discovered only lined up portable bathrooms with disgusting pit toilets.   I have to deduct a star because it is extremely difficult taking a 3 year old to a pit toilet meanwhile instructing her not to touch ANYTHING.  Soap and cold water is provided, but no towels to dry off.

The corn maze is definitely a highlight to Corn Belly’s with a new theme each year.  This year was a NASA inspired them.  The field looked like a solar system from above with loud speakers blaring the first lunar landing recording.  It was really fun running around the maze with the kids.  We tried our hardest to get lost but we always seemed to know which direction to safely return thanks to the observation decks placed around the pathways.  We also spent time just climbing the haystacks, taking pictures by some of the cute backdrops and enjoying the entertainment.   All of the activities are on grass field or gravel surfaces.  The gravel is definitely a downfall; I learned not to wear open-toed shoes and this surface is definitely not the place for a stroller.  However, I do appreciate that there was plenty of “non-scary” Halloween entertainment for little ones.  Likewise, there are some additional scary activities for the 12 and older crowd.  This place does cater to families with kids in every age group.

In all Corn Belly’s is a fun place for families.  Just be aware that the venue does get crowded.  I would suggest bringing both parents, or additional adult supervision in order to keep track of your kiddos in this world of eager children.  Also, don’t forget to bring plenty of jackets (it gets pretty cool when the sun goes down), flashlights for the corn maze, and hand sanitizer (for the restrooms).
