I have to admit, my family thought I was "Bad Mommy" for taking my 7-year old on this tour. Let me enlighten you - she had fun!!! She was not the youngest, nor the oldest kid on the tour.
Come see how beer is made in beautiful, Golden, CO. You start the tour in the off-site parking lot. the brewery itself is massive with the property spanning over 5 miles. You wait in line for the bus to come pick you up & take you to the tour. On the way, the driver gives you a mini tour of Golden (CUTE town!!) & points out places of historical interest.
Once you arrive at the brewery, you get your souvenier photo taken & check in to get your wristband for tasting (must show valid ID). You can also pick up your self-guided audio tour handsets here. It says they are for over age 12, but they gladly gave my daughter one.
The tour is completely self-paced. therefore, it is easy to speed up or skip things should the little ones get antsy. It is informative & interesting. They can handle bins full of hops & barley, there are experts around that you can ask questions to, & there is lots of stuff to see.
The tour ends in the tasting room where you receive three full-size samples of your choice. I highly recommend Batch 19!!!! There is a full range of sodas & lemonade for the kids (unlimited). there are also snack machines & tons of tables to sit at.
I recommend going early to beat the rush. The hours are random & seasonal, so check the website.
