We visted the conch tour train last May. It was a great way to see the key west (without walking) and we got to hear the most interesting stories. Another great part is we took the train around nap time for my 2 year old and the easy ride put him right to sleep. I would recommend this to everyone!
I would highly recommend spending the extra money to take the conch tour train in Key West. Especially with kids who get tired of walking it allows to get from site to site easily and see more - which is why we go in the first place! Be sure to check tourist books for coupons because they always have one for this!
This is a perfect way to gather a ton of information without having to do all the walking. It is very difficult to find a place to park in downtown Key West, but this allows you to get the history of the town, but you also have the option of getting off at any one of a number of spots all over the town. A little pricey perhaps, but start saving early, you won't regret it!
This is a great way to find out about the area. It's great for the 1st time visit. It is hard to park in the down town area so this is wonderful way to get around before you know what you want to go back to see. It is a slow go but it is pleasant and kids love it. If you are traveling with grandparents who may have a hard time walking around...this is ideal.
If you are interested in getting a tour of the island with out having to walk every square inch, the Conch Train Tour is the way to go. It will take you to a lot of the famous attractions of Key West and the guides are knowledgeable with Key West's history. Kids will love being on the train. Be pared to be gone for a bit bit truly worth the ride, enjoy!
To get to know the town and its history in short order, take the Conch Tour Train ninety-minute tour. Learn how Key West became the richest city in the United States from salvaging ships wrecked on yonder reefs.
